questions about “ultimate man” multi-vitamin from vitamin shoppe?
I purchased the “ultimate man” multi vitamin and i was worried about a few things:
1.the 100%vitamin K, and the fact that i eat broccoli and cabbage..
2.boron is in it….as well as alot of other things…
3.has hydrolyzed protein chelate, for chromium and selenium….which i thought hydrolized protein had gluten in them, or is that just hydrolyzed wheat or bran protein?
other than that it seems like a great multi-vitamin, with high numbers…
just wanted some insight….i was on centrum performance but it had 100% iron and it had me constipated…

Well, a couple of those are good reasons to worry.
There is a lot of Vitamin K in Broccoli (92.4 mcg/cup) and Cabbage (53.4 mcg/cup) according to the USDA National Agricultural Library. Vitamin K is both a fat-soluble vitamin (so it can build up in your system if you take too much) and it’s a blood thinner, so you definitely don’t want to take too much.
Boron is a very beneficial mineral that helps the absorption of Calcium among other things. It’s normally listed around 3 mg daily, but you should be careful not to get too much more because it can also build up in your system.
No, hydrolyzed protein doesn’t have gluten in it unless it’s from wheat, barley, etc. Gluten is from grains, not proteins. Besides that fact, the Chelated minerals that come from that wouldn’t come from grains… there wouldn’t be a high enough quantity of them in the grains to be economically feasible in that form and Chelated minerals are commonly from a lab anyway.
If you are looking for just a multivitamin, I would go for one that just has the basics and take specific extras separately if you want them. Good luck!

The Ultimate Collection $11.98 Preceding the elaborate 2005 reissues of Eurythmics’ eight proper albums by a month, The Ultimate Collection narrowly trumps 1991’s Greatest Hits since it features remastered sound and a more extensive track list. While it does not contain “Don’t Ask Me Again,” opting to instead select a couple merely decent highlights from 1999’s Peace, two new (unplanned) recordings add value for any kind of fan. Bookending the disc, “I’ve Got a Life” is powerful disco-pop with Annie Lennox strongly present over a bursting multi-tiered arrangement, while the relatively low-key “Was It Just Another Affair” has more in common with late-period Everything But the Girl. Both songs pleasingly sound the way Eurythmics should sound in 2005. Send Ultimate $13.88 Send is a quasi-compilation and pseudo-new album from an older and much more ferocious Wire; it plucks seven songs from the two low-key Read & Burn EPs the group released on its own Pink Flag label in 2002 and adds four new ones. This is the culmination, perhaps, of the group’s 1999 re-formation — an outcome that only attendees of the terse performances and buyers of the EPs could have forecasted. Unlike a lot of re-formed groups, Wire chose not to be a jukebox with its old material while performing in front of its multi-generational crowds. The bandmembers didn’t merely run through pieces of their beloved discography, or even inject new life into them — they tore through them with a vigorous energy that teetered on the brink of violence. The new material collected and built on here takes on the same tightly wound, clenched-teeth direction. Thick walls of clamor are constructed on each song. The opening “In the Art of Stopping” is a relatively unassuming din of whipsaw guitars and percussion that could double as the sound of railroad ties being driven into the ground. Colin Newman’s voice hectors ominously as it slowly shifts from one channel to the other and back again. All the buzzing sets up the viscous and highly repetitive grinding of “Mr. Marx’s Table,” where Newman takes on a more hospitable tone. On “Spent,” Bruce Gilbert practically screams at the top of his lungs and fights to be heard over an overwhelming bank of industrial guitars that twist with agitated riffs and squeals. The only break from the onslaught comes during the closing “99.9,” which takes nearly four minutes to be worked into another rich lather of vibrating menace.
