i have just started drag racing and im am a bit confused what is the perfecr revs to take off at.i have a 5 speed ford ranger whitch red lines a 5000 rpm.what should i rev up to to get the fastest takeoff but wont hurt my engine?i have been taking off around 3000 rpms
yah this is buy no means a stock car.
i have biger new breaks calipers and rotars (forgot the brand).performance high flow cat back system with flowmaster 40 series muffler.hooker headers, performance race shocks,performance tires,injectors, .5 cams, ram air /cold air intake, chiped,4.0 engine, ect.
by no means is this truck stock
it will pop a wheelie about 6in off the ground if i get a good start
also it is a stick(if anyone didnt get it buy me saying 5 speed)
its trail and error, just make sure once you get the top ET you do it the same every time. as far launch RPM as high as you can with out spinning the tires. tire spin is bad you cant control your ET with tire spin.
