What is an upper strut mount and its purpose as well as a ball joint. How do they relate to each other and affect each other?
The upper strut mount and balljoint both work in conjunction with each other, they both are pivot points for the spindle. The balljiont hookes to the lower control arm and the spindle and is the pivot point for the lower part of the spindle and the suspension. The strutmount is located at the top of the strut, it is the upper pivot point of the spindle and allows the strut to spin freely with the spindle when the steering wheel is turned.
