Sneak up on an enemy, and press O (no directional buttons or you’ll throw them) to put them in a choke hold. If you press O to hard you’ll slit their throat.
To get items sneak up on an enemy, then press Square to draw your gun and hold them up. Move around in front of them and point the gun at their head and they should do a shimmying move, dropping any items they have.
You can also knock them out/kill them, then pick up the body and drop it repeatedly to get items.
