1979 Chevy 1 / 2 ton driver side door glass jumps off track?
1979 Chevy 1 / 2 ton driver side door glass jumps the road. This happens when the display window on half to three quarters down. I took the door panel off and it seems that the guide at the front has weakened. Any way to fix this without replacing the guide? I have a welding machine or cutting machine.
Try pinching the guide channel, along with a pair of pliers — Do not exaggerate. The feeling within the channel may be all gone and allowing settling too much for the glass to roll up and down properly. Channel Guide is part of the window for ventilation as a set to replace.
