What can I do to improve my wake boarding behind a ski boat?
I wake board behind a 92′ ski boat. There’s little wake and the rope is attached very low so it’s difficult to get much air. I’ve added people (weight) onto the boat and it hasn’t increased the wake much. How can I improve my boat for wake boarding without buying a new boat?
definitely look for ballasts to add in the boat..
ballasts are a good idea because 1. they’re easy weight. simply put.. and 2. you can never have too much (water*) weight in a boat… obviously staying under the boats max weight restrictions
as opposed to hard weight (concrete buckets, rocks, bodies), with water weight, it will be impossible to sink your boat, the worst that can happen is you “swamping” it… water filling the inside to the boat’s surface… it wont sink
ballasts- depending on the weight will increase your wake size noticeably..
another method is a tower… or a cheaper alternative… the pylon or boom… this brings the rope to a higher point in the air, making riding more forgiving and allowing more hang time..
the third method is to buy a wake plate for the boat.. this will beef up your wake considerably on its own but the combination of the three will give you what youre looking for…
